EMPOWERMENT MODEL BOOTCAMP

This intensive modeling workshop focuses on building self-confidence and self-esteem through modeling. This unique camp provides a wonderful experience for all. Our goal is to utilize fashion as a vehicle to provide young men and women with the necessary tools to help build their confidence and self-esteem regardless of the career path they choose.

Empowerment Fashion Bootcamp Program Curriculum

  • First impressions

    • Valuing oneself – Who am I? What we value?
      • Objectives:
        • By the end of the session, participants will:
          • Remember what inspires them or makes them happy.
          • Reflect on how they construct their identities and life plans and the importance of having a positive sense of self.
          • Reflect on what is most important to them.

         

  • Personal grooming, skin care and makeup

    • Personal Grooming is essential to enhance our overall image. It helps us to feel confident, look sharp and establish a lasting first impression.
      • Objectives:
        • By the end of the session, participants will:
          • Understand why personal grooming is important for everyone.
            • Personal hygiene
            • Skin care
            • Hair care
            • Makeup
  • Nutrition and exercise
    • An active lifestyle and exercise routine, along with eating well, is the best way to stay healthy
      • Objectives:
        • By the end of the session, participants will:
          • Learn that eating a healthy balanced diet accompanied by regular exercise is essential in maintaining physical and mental health and well-being.
        • Puberty and the body
          • Discuss pressures related to physical appearance, the changes that occur during puberty, and how peers can help each other through puberty.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                  • Describe how cultural pressures related to appearance affect their self-esteem.
                  • Describe the physical and emotional changes that occur during puberty.
                  • Understand that these changes that occur during puberty are normal.

        • Modeling 101:
          • Poise, posture and walk
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Learn the basic runway walks
                • In depths look at correct poise and posture, walking and completing half and full turns with ease.
                • learn how to combine attitude with rhythm and physical vocabulary.
                • Enhance personal style through attitude.
                • Learn how to dress depending on your figure and shape
                • how to dress for success.
        • The art of conversation
          • Communication skills:
            • Learn about and practice behaviors that enhance communication.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Learn that what one person says and the other person hears are sometimes different.
                • Understand the need to be very clear in what one says.
                • Increase their ability to formulate assertive responses.
                • Be able to adopt behaviors that enhance communication.
        • Cell phone etiquette
            • There are generalized rules that should be followed in regard to cell phone use.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                  • Learn general cell phone etiquette
                  • Etiquette for cell phones at school
                  • Etiquette for cell phones on dates
                  • Etiquette for cell phones at work

                 

         

        • Table Manners/Dinning etiquette
          • Table manners are the rules of etiquette used while eating, which may also include the use of utensils.
            • Objective:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Learn how to set a basic, informal and formal place setting
                • Top ten table manners
                • Do’s and don’ts of table manners
        • Bullying, fairness, and empathy
          • Participants discuss the importance of treating people fairly and learn about bullying and what to do to prevent it.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Understand the importance of fairness.
                • Know what to do when they see bullying or are bullied
                • Expand their capacity for empathy
        • Decision-making
          • Participants learn basic steps for, and practice, making decisions
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                  • Use the steps in BE A STAR model to make responsible choices and decisions.
                  • Reflect on decisions, actions, and personal accountability.

                 

         

        • Goal setting
          • Participants will think about their future, learn what goals are, and practice developing goals.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Discuss their dreams for the future
                • Define what a goal is
                • Work on short-term goal setting
                • Understand the importance of having someone help them achieve their goals
        • Financial education
          • Participants learn some basic savings principles and consider ways to reduce risky income.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Learn the “Eight steps for savings”
                • Determine their own savings priorities
                • Discuss the risks and risk-reduction strategies of income cycles.
        • Negotiation and leadership:
          • Participants learn that negotiation is a way of talking and working together with others to solve problems. Also, participants consider what makes an effective leader and how to avoid using negative leadership behaviors.
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                • Learn that by cooperating rather than competing with each other, both parties may reach their desired results, even in situations that seem competitive.
                • Learn the difference between positions and interests and show the possibility of reaching a win-win solution.
                • Identify the qualities of good and bad leadership, and think about how they would like to develop to become leaders
        • Social etiquette/Making the world a better place:
          • Participants explore what they can do in their own lives to make the world a better place
            • Objectives:
              • By the end of the session, participants will:
                  • Feel supported by their peers
                  • Have increased motivation and confidence to change the world in which they live.

                 

        Fees

        *The monthly fee is based on summer vacation months; all holidays, vacations are tallied into the payment. There is no prorating monthly tuition due to absence of illness, school or vacation. Students will be allowed to make-up classes missed due to illness WITH PRIOR CONSENT FROM Sandra or Vernet. There will be no refunds of registration fees or monthly tuitions

        • $175/month (2 CLASSES A WEEK)

        MONTHLY TUITION FOR STUDENTS ENROLLED IN AUTOMATIC WITHDRAWAL FROM CHECKING ACCOUNT

        • $95/month (1 CLASS A WEEK)
        • $150/month (2 CLASSES A WEEK)
